Biography

Born on February 24, 1990 in Dallas Texas, Ben Kohles moved to Cary, North Carolina with his family when he was 10 years old. He did not take up the game of golf until he was 13 years old, more consistently at age 15, but he’s been moving up with great strides ever since. He played college golf at the University of Virginia. During his collegiate career, he won seven events and was a three-time All American. He was also the ACC Player of the Year two times. Since turning pro in the summer of 2012 at the Wyndham Championship, Kohles has continued his success. He won his first two Web.com Tour events, and guaranteed himself a PGA Tour card for 2013.

In an effort to stay up to date on things in the golf world and the sporting world overall, Ben is active on Twitter and keeps up with SportsCenter. When he’s not golfing, Kohles is an avid fan of the University of Virginia sports teams, Kentucky basketball, the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Mavericks. His favorite athletes include Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and Josh Hamilton. With these great sporting role models, Ben Kohles is sure to make a success of himself in professional golf.

In addition to golf, not many people know that Ben occasionally bowls over 200. To round out his athletic pursuits, Ben’s bucket list includes skydiving and driving a race car. He tries to live up to the motto “Never give up, never ever give up,” as said by former North Carolina State basketball coach Jim Valvano.

Ben’s favorite golf courses are Pine Valley GC, Oakmont CC, and Pebble Beach GL.
